<Facebook post by Abdul Salim Harun>

This two ladies, purposely stand near me and talking out loud about how Islam is a fairy tale and how it's followers are fools.

I'm controlling my anger now but I will forgive them Coz they don't have a large mirror in front of them to reflect back on what they have said....

Young PAP member Edmund Ng, who is serving in a PAP Paya Lebar branch in Aljunied GRC said that he had called the Singapore police and they confirmed that Amos Yee is headed overseas and is probably hiding overseas too.

Another Mas Selamat? Failure to hold on to someone whom they want to charge? Since he is from PAP, we have to assume he is credible...

BUKIT BATOK MASSAGE PARLOUR OFFERS 'SPECIAL SERVICES' TO REGULAR CUSTOMERS

$

<Photo credit: Lianhe Wanbao>

A 24-hour massage parlour and spa has been found to be a front for sex activities and sensual pleasures. The parlour, which is operated by 5 or 6 young PRC female masseuses and opened up about 6 months ago, was only supposed to provide foot and body massages, but nearby shop assistants and residents observed that its clientele consists of a steady stream of men who patronise the shop at all hours of the day.

One shop assistant said: The customers are mostly male. Some enter from the front, while others enter from the back door. One night, I saw a smartly dressed man leave from the back door and drive away in a fancy car, but only after sharing a passionate goodbye with a female worker,"

Another resident questioned why there was a need for the massage parlour to be open 24 hours since traffic in the residential area was low at night. "Why would anyone feel like having a massage in the middle of the night? I suspect the shop is not so innocent."

To investigate further, a reporter pretended to be a customer and visited the shop. He found out that besides the massages advertised, 3 other "special services" are also provided, with one of the services reserved for regulars only. When probed further, a masseuse was reluctant to reveal further and only said "I will show you next time."

Upon entering the shop, three masseuses immediately approached and asked if he had made a reservation. When they found out that no reservation was made, their expressions immediately changed and became unfriendly. There were six small rooms with shower facilities in the shop. Customers who had made reservations would immediately be ushered into the shower once they went into the rooms.

The reporter chose the one-hour massage package. The first 45 minutes proceeded like a typical massage session.

But at the end of the session, the masseuse told him: "We can't earn much if you don't take up the extra services."

The Central Provident Fund Board has sent out an alert to members on a fake CPF corporate website. CPFB is working on bringing down this fake website and urged users to be vigilant. This comes after CPF's official website was disrupted for 2 weeks due to a malfunctioning website upgrade. As of Tuesday, CPF online services were 90% restored.

In CPFB's email to Singaporeans, it stated:

"We are currently working to bring down this fake website. We would like to take this opportunity to remind you to remain vigilant and exercise caution when using the Internet, especially for transactional purposes. DEAR S'POREANS WHERE HAVE OUR RACIAL HARMONY GONE TO?

$

Dear Editors,

I am writing this to urge all Singaporeans to love each other regardless of race, language & religion while we still can.Almost everyday i'm seeing news about racism in Singapore & i'm getting sick and tired of all these.

Where have our racial harmony gone to? I'm a local born Singaporean and lately i've been observing how the mainstream media is also being used and being put in a way to create suspicion and to slowly divide us through our race and religion.

Let me tell u this;the world we are living in ain't all sunshine and rainbows,it's a very mean and nasty place. We have politicians who no longer serve the people but serve the rich and powerful bankers who controls the world for their hidden agenda, the new world order. These rich & powerful people are willing to do anything for their motive in creating a single government and having people in this world to have the same faith of religion.

Their mission is to conquer this world. They will start off by informing you the news about things they want you to know and keeping silent about important things that is also happening at the same time, when it is not of their interest.Well let's just say this..if you rely on TV to tell you the truth then you are under control.

To sum up my writing,i just hope that Singaporeans learn to understand, respect & tolerate people from different races and religion. When u have something bad to say about people from other races/religion please keep it to yourself because judging on other people's beliefs doesn't make u a better person. After all,we are all humans;we need each other to survive in this world.

Besides that, please do your own research before believing the news reported in the mainstream media because what is reported in the mainstream media may not be credible. We are stuck in a generation where lying is the new truth.Salute to whoever who is reading this; wherever u are.Peace let us stay united as Singaporeans

PPP POLITICIAN FILES POLICE REPORT AGAINST EX-NMP CALVIN CHENG

$

One of our member has made a police report against Calvin Cheng, we believe that fascist statement made by him has gravely threatened Singapore's security.

Statement:

Calvin Cheng on 17 November 2015 had incited the killing of "terrorists children" in his Facebook comment. Please refer to the sources.

Ng Chong Guan who sentenced to 7 months jail for verbal threatening to kill a nurse. Calvin Cheng has threatened to kill an entire community of terrorists and young children. He therefore has infringed the penal code 503.

Calvin Cheng has caused enmity and hatred from the terrorists group that he threatened to hurt and kill them. As Calvin is a public figure, an ex-parliamentarian and an esteemed figure who sits on the Media Literacy Council, his words will therefore carry more weight and will allow potential terrorists to think that his views represent the views of our country. This provocation potentially put our country in grave danger of terrorists attacks and will have infringed the Internal Security Act.

The police and the Ministry of Home affair should therefore do a thorough investigation on this matter of grave importance.

Penal code 503

"Whoever threatens another with any injury to his person, reputation or property, or to the person or reputation of any one in whom that person is interested, with intent to cause alarm to that person, or to cause that person to do any act which he is not legally bound to do, or to omit to do any act which that person is legally entitled to do, as the means of avoiding the execution of such threat, commits criminal intimidation."

TERRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE AT PERFUME FOREVER JURONG POINT

$
0
0

My younger brother had a bad experienceat one of the chain outlet of Dollars & Scents, a local biz which supplies Cosmetics & Beauty products.

The shop is named Perfume Forever located at Jurong Point Mall..

The boss at this particular location was not only nasty but also rude. who Smugly challenged me to lodge a complain with CASE when it was clearly fault on his part. Without even trying to resolve the matter. He see simply waved his hands as one would do when warding off flies.

Freaking Rude.

But I reckon the reason behind this bugger's sucky attitude was probably due to the fact that his customers could not be bothered to bring themselves down to his level. .
Simply because they are not worth the trouble.. for a small amount of money wasted at his shop, the time needed to solve this matter is simply not worthwhile.

I believe we are not the Unlucky first and definitely won't be the last. I definitely hope he gets his "returns" soon enough...

My purpose is to caution about potential customers... would you want to contribute to such pple... even if the prices they offer might seem like a good bargain....

Below is the review that my brother had posted on their FB page... which once again was conveniently ignored.

< I bought a bottle of ladies perfume from your Jurong Point outlet last Thursday.
Upon discovering on Friday night that the bottle broke and was leaking, I brought it back on Saturday morning.
Was served by your sales staff, of which one was very defensive and started the inspection by denying that the bottle was your stock, which later became accusations of me breaking the bottle and trying to get it changed.
The other lady was nice and courteous to me and I would like to thank her for making her stand to me nicely. I do understand, but at the same time, I find it hard to agree as your point is that the onus is on me to make sure the item was in perfect condition before I leave. I also find it hard to agree with your defensive salesgirl that the item is definitely in perfect condition when she handled it and it became broken in my possession. No camera was with me to prove that I broke the item, but I seriously doubt any camera was on the item from the moment it left the warehouse to the moment I took over.

Also, to the boss of the outlet who spoke to my sister, I'm not sure when you spoke to me, in a nice tone, because if my memory serves me right, you were standing by the side watching the scene unfold. Maybe you would like to check your cctv which overlooks your cashier? I'm also not so sure that you would challenge each and every unsatisfied customer to lodge a report with the centre's management and a consumer watchdog association. The customer is not always right, but neither are you.

I'll not rate your outlet 1 star just because of 1 bad experience. I've been there 6 times in the past and each of it has been fine, great actually. I remember being served by the boss the first time I was there. It just happens that my 7th and last is a horrible one.

To defensive salesgirl:

Past performance is not an indicator of future performance. Just because I've been to your shop 6 times in the past does not mean your goods are perfect each and every time. I'm sure the negative reviews must have taught you so. Just because you were well yesterday does not mean you won't fall sick tomorrow. The opposite is also true.

To the boss:
I'm sure the management has told you of my decision to report you to case. However, a cost/benefit analysis has revealed that the time and energy spent on this particular episode would be a waste as what I would gain out of this is just probably another bottle of perfume which I help my colleague buy, or even nothing, as you have obstinately demonstrated to the Jurong Point management who has kindly tried to mediate matters. It's no longer about the cost of the perfume as I am able to absorb the loss, but just the loss of confidence that a loyal, albeit a not-a-big-enough-spender-for-you-to-remember customer has in you.

I'll take note to actually open my purchases to check in future, but I'm fairly sure that my business will not go to you. >

INHERITANCE CLAIMS IN S'PORE ARE OPAQUE AND BADLY MISMANAGED!

$
0
0

Dear Editor,

I am writing to further elaborate on the unreliability of our "Public
Trustee" as highlighted by a ST article on 9 Dec 15: Public Trustee Office
refuse to return CPF money due to lack of WW2 documentation reporting on the
predicament of 3 sisters in claiming the estate of their late grandmother
which they eventually gave up and there are no laws regulating how those
monies should be handled.

My late father, Mr P.M. Pereira who passed away in 2010, has placed me in a
similar but more complicated and unexplained situation on the stance of our
so-called "Public Trustee". My late father converted to islam more than a
decade ago and the consequences were clearly not explained to him by the
muslim converts' association of s'pore, in that his estates would be
distributed under some "hanbali" law.

Shortly after my late father divorced my mother, he married an Indonesian
woman whose marriage is not recognized by the islamic religious council of
s'pore (adding to the complication). Hence, my late father is deemed single
with no inheritors (as his entire family is catholic) under the "hanbali"
law. To my understanding, his estates will either be seized by muis or the
"Public Trustee" and distributed under Intestate.

However, I was shocked to learn that my late father's devious sisters who
were non-muslims, had obtained a district court order laying hands on
$150,000 of my late father's assets from NTUC Income and Prudential! I later
found out they had falsely declared to the police and court that my late
father had no other surviving kin and they would like his estates to be
distributed under civil law.

This is very flawed on 3 counts, firstly, the incompetent courts and police
should have made more inquiries if my late father indeed had no more
surviving kin from the population registry. Second, the monies should have
been surrendered to the "tabung amal aidilfitri trust fund" in view of my
late father's newfound religious status. Lastly, the monies should never have
gone to my aunts as the biological child of a divorcee is always first in
line according to civil inheritance.

I think its time we draw attention to the opaque way that our civil service
has been handling our queries all these while. I noticed from the hansard
that only former MP Lee Li Lian raised this issue once and did not follow up
on it. Currently, my case is that my late father's remaining CPF monies of
$5000 is till stuck at IPTO as they do not know how to react to appeals from
1 of the Marine Parade MPs of my greedy aunts demanding the immediate release
of my late father's monies, this in spite of already having previously
cheated $150,000 and getting away with it!

AMOS YEE: LET ME SHOW YOU HOW TO FU*K THE SG GOVT REAL GOOD

<Update by Amos Yee>

Local news has finally relented, and have started to report my news that I'm running away from the police. Emmm....my nipples are tingling. Yes, suck my attention-seeking dick. This is much more riveting than what lee hsien loong and pm modi ate in Komala Villas (http://www.tnp.sg/news/singapore-news/what-did-pm-modi-and-pm-lee-eat-ko...) I assure you.

I love how now, fuckers from sph are obligated to report my news. If they don't, they get condemned for hiding and not providing news. But if they do like now, they bring more attention to me, which means more attention to my criticisms towards them, and the government. Either way, you pap dogs are fXXked!

This is how you fXXk with the singapore government people. Whether you report my news or not or whether you send me to jail, either way, their reputation is soiled. Unlike what stupid opposition members say (which is why they still haven't won the elections even though their policies are good), it is not blind courage, insipid speeches and stupid acts of civil disobedience that will scorch those pap cXXts to the ground (You are retarded chee soon juan), it is intelligence, a sense of humor and a touch of manipulation.

The dance continues lee hsien loong, and sadly now papa isn't around to rub your tummy. The tango is aflame and my balls are reverberating. Get ready to be fXXked in the ass by Amos Yee bitch, come at me, MOTHERFXXKER!!

IS THE S'PORE SPORTS HUB A GIANT WHITE ELEPHANT?

$
0
0

The Singapore government and the Singapore Sports Council have done it again. Spending millions of $$$ to build a magnificent concrete structure, which ends underused and relegated to becoming a great white elephant soon to be forgotten.

At first, there were the nagging problems, with a sandy pitch and leaking roofs. Now, we find out that the management at the Singapore Sports Hub charge by the thousands for a day. According to the news, the Sports Hub asked Singapore Athletics for a massive $620,000 for four days' rental to hold its regional championships, a sum of $155,000 a day.

Even our national day parade (NDP) has not been spared from the Sports Hub's money grubbing calculations. They apparently asked MINDEF for $26 million to hold the National Day event. This was for 35 additional days of rehearsals for arguably the nation's biggest event in a year. This is on top of a clause specified in the Sports Hub's contract with the Singapore government, which says that the venue is to be provided free of charge for a limited number of days for major events like the NDP.

Perhaps after feeling embarrassed by the sheer insanity of their demands, the Sports Hub decided to trim down this ridiculous amount to a less ridiculous but still crazy $10 million. The NDP is funded using tax money, for your information, and much of this money could probably have gone to feed a starving child or disabled old person.

Granted there are operating and other costs in running and maintaining the stadium, but looking at the poor demand for its services and its prices for events, no wonder event organizers are giving the venue a miss. If this keeps up, what Singaporeans will end up with is another white elephant fiasco, with an unused and derelict Sports Hub becoming an eyesore to the public.

It's time for the Sports Council and the Sports Hub to figure out how to lower costs into a more acceptable range, or risk becoming obsolete.

PULAU TEKONG GHOST STORY: WHITE FEMALE GHOST FORCED SERGEANT TO SHOOT HIMSELF WITH BLANKS

$
0
0

This happened around December 2002, in our dear Pulau Tekong. Wasn't a personal experience, but it's close enough i think.

**********

I was in an Infantry Bn that was going to P.Tekong for an 5 day exercise. I suspect the sole purpose of the mission was to tekan us sec-coms and the men, for all we did was SBD after SBD, with the occasion platoon mission. At night we would move to another area in FBO to another part of Tekong to dig in and con, then repeat the cycle again next day.

We were all very tired by wednesday night having been doing drills since Monday. Now, that night after we finished our drills, we were supposed to move to another area to con, but for some reason, we were held at a training shed till ~11pm. Frankly then, me and my fellow sec-coms didn't care why, we were just glad to get some rest.

A while later, news filtered down to us that X coy's sec-com (let's call him Sgt A) had gone missing during his FIBUA mission. Bn HQ was starting to worry and subsequently, the entire battalion was activated to search for him since X coy had not suceeded in locating the Sgt despite having been searching and combing the area since 7pm.

We took 5-tonners to the BUA village where Sgt A was last seen, and carried out a mass combing. Entire companies were formed up in an extended line, and we moved forward to search, all the while calling out Sgt A's name. However by 2am, our Sgt A was still missing, and we had combed more than 2km from the BUA village. Those unlucky ones even bashed through the vegetation to search for him. All to no avail.

At around 2.30am, Thursday early morning, the search was finally called off. Sgt A had been found. We carried out our last mission on thursday afternoon and gathered at the BUA village (where Sgt A went missing) at CO's orders.

**********

There, the CO addressed the battalion and told us what happened ...

On Wednesday evening, Sgt A was point section of his platoon to attack a BUA building. The exercise was a simple one, RV somewhere in the vegetation about 70m away from the building, then move towards it and carry out the usual drills.

It was getting dark then, and the platioon was lagging slightly. Sgt A told his men he would move ahead and check out the front, and instructed them to wait for the platoon. However, when the platoon arrived, Sgt A wasn't there. Not sensing anything admiss at that time, the platoon carried out the attack without Sgt A. Maybe the PC decided to question Sgt A when he came back.

It was nearing 8pm, and Sgt A still hadn't come back. The PC ordered the platoon to search for their Sgt. Soon the search expanded involved the Coy, and finally the whole Battalion.

Sgt A was eventually found at the Malay School by a mortar/scout (details are foggy, don't remember which exactly) section at around 230am. For those who don't know, this Malay School place was some distance away from the BUA village where Sgt A had gone missing. He was unconcious and suffering from mild hypothermia when discovered, and was immediately sent to the BMTC medical center for treatment.

Sgt A initially refused to tell anyone what exactly happened, but after some time, he finally told his side of the story ...

That evening when Sgt A went ahead of his platoon alone that evening, he saw a white, seemingly female figure. This figure told Sgt A to follow. For some reason, Sgt A felt compelled to follow and couldn't resist. He also mentioned he seem to be viewing everything from a 3rd person perspective from behind ie. he was somehow looking at himself from behind following the white figure.

Sgt A (and the figure) arrived at the Malay School Tekong.

There, the figure asked Sgt A to kill himself.

Our CO then mentioned that it was fortunate that we train with blanks instead of live rounds.

**********

Maybe it's wasn't Sgt A's time yet, so to speak. Maybe it was pure survival instinct that Sgt A didn't commit suicide despite the white figure telling him to. Maybe that particular being didn't have enought "power". Or maybe it was the lack of lethal equipment, as he didn't have live rounds to shoot himself with. In any case, it's was fortunate that we didn't lose a life over the incident.

For the skeptics out there :

If you don't believe Sgt A, please remember he had no need to reason to lie and cause a big hooha that would eventually involve the entire batallion of 400+ soldiers. If he was sick he could just have fallen out. I didn't know Sgt A personally as I was a spec in another coy, and furthermore I was from a older SISPEC batch that passed out earlier. But his fellow coy specs with whom i was more friendly with told me that Sgt A isn't the "chao keng" type, more of the hardworking type (A was a regular btw).

It's also highly unlikely that Sgt A got lost in Tekong and invented the story to "save face". All Infantry specs spend 8 months "playing" in Tekong and are quite familiar with at least 75% of tekong ground having done exercise/torpor extensively on the island; and Sgt A was a fresh spec that had graduated out of SISPEC not too long ago before the incident. Furthermore, all Sgts have a damn map/compass set and are proficient using them.

Lastly, he was less than 100m from the BUA. If he needed medical help, it was 100m away. He was 100m away from all the light and noise that the rest of the coy was making in another part of the BUA ...

FOREIGN WORKER WITHOUT SAFETY HARNESS, SAFETY AS LAST PRIORITY?

Dear Editors,

I walked pass a construction site in Serangoon and saw workers working dangerously at the top of the building. They were working at heights without any safety harness. One accidental slip and they would have fallen off the three storey structure.

This construction firm is Euro Builders. Really is a black sheep of the Construction industry! Placing workers' safety last!

I hope this matter will be reported and worker safety will be improved at the worksite. Pity those foreign workers, put lives at risk for that peanut pay.

IF S'POREANS FIRST POLICIES HURT INTEGRATION, SO DO "FOREIGNERS FIRST" POLICIES

$

Singaporeans-first policies impact integration of foreigners

I refer to the article Singaporeans-first policies ‘may affect integration of foreigners’ (Channel NewsAsia, Dec 15).

It states that “Still, Singaporeans also have to be conscious of reaching out to new immigrants, said Assoc Prof Ho. “We have a clear sense of what it means to be Singaporean, but we also need to be open to the idea that the ‘Singaporean-ness’ will evolve as our demographics change.””

“Foreigners first” policies?

Whilst the research study is on Chinese immigrants who are PRs– it may throw up the contentious issue of “foreigners’ first policies, which may arguably tilt the playing field in the favour of foreigners viv-a-visSingaporeans.

For example,

Employers do not have to pay CPF for foreign workers.

Foreign males do not have national service reservist liability.

Foreign work permit females cannot get pregnant.

PRs can choose not to do national service when they reach the age of 18 by leaving Singapore.

PRs can withdraw their CPF if they leave Singapore permanently.

More scholarships are given to foreigners and PRs than Singaporeans.

Foreigners can come as tourists to look for jobs, but not vice versa.

Employers must purchase at least $15,000 of hospitalisation insurance for foreign workers and go to the higher class B1 ward and treatment.

Employers do not have to compulsorily purchase hospitalisation insurance for Singaporean workers – who have to pay for themselves their MediShield Life premiums which covers the lower class C and B2 ward and treatment.

Have a national jobs portal that encourages employers to hire Singaporeans first, but cannot give any statistics as to what proportion of the jobs actually went to Singaporeans.

It may also be interesting to note that whenever fees are increased for foreigners and PRs for anything – there has never been any decrease for Singaporeans.

Are there any countries in the world that have so many “foreigners first”, instead of “citizens first” policies?

Uniquely “Singaporeans First”!

LOWEST JOB GROWTH SINCE 2009, BUT MOST JOBS WENT TO FOREIGNERS?

$
0
0

Lowest job growth since 2009

I refer to the article “Job growth for first nine months of 2015 at lowest since 2009” (Today, Dec 15).

It states that “The number of new jobs created for the first nine months of this year has fallen to its lowest since 2009.

In the latest Ministry of Manpower (MOM) labour market report for the third quarter, total employment from January to September grew by 16,200 jobs.”

Breakdown of jobs growth?

What is the breakdown of the 16,200 jobs growth into Singaporeans, PRs and foreigners?

Most of the job growth went to non-S’poreans?

Since the “Overall seasonally adjusted unemployment rate remained at 2 per cent. Compared to the last quarter, unemployment rose to by 0.2 percentage point to 3 per cent for residents and 3.1 per cent for citizens” - does it mean that most of the job growth went to foreigners and PRs– as the citizens and residents’ unemployment rates increased by 0.2 per cent whilst the overall unemployment rate (including foreigners) remained unchanged?

Reciprocate trust with more transparency?

Since the people have given their trust and mandate – shouldn’t we reciprocate by being more transparent?

IS GROUPON OVERWHELMED BY CHRISTMAS ORDERS OR IN DEEP TROUBLE?

Hi,

I recently made purchases with Groupon but they have failed to deliver products. It's not just me alone, many others have not received theirs too. After much spamming on their FB page, they finally replied (with a templated reply in fact), claiming that their Customer Care Office is flooded with calls & emails thus they are unable to pick up any calls now or that their Customer Care & Social Media are of different teams. When we tried calling, we get automated reply saying that the office is closed (for 2 weeks now btw).

One victim went down to the office address stated in their website & found out that the office has already been cleared out. It was also stated in the building management's website that the office space (supposedly rented by Groupon) is currently vacant.

We consumers have been trying to get an explanation from them but they are not responding to our concerns at all. All they could provide is their templated reply, which is disappointing.

I posted on their FB page stating that if they are not delivering products & not providing any explanation still, i will proceed to lodge reports with the police as well as CASE.

Not only did they not respond, they even took my posts down (together with a few others who posted). They commented & told us to send them PMs with our deals' details in order for them to look into the matter. We did as told but some got ridiculous emails on products that they did not purchase, some of us (like me) did not even have our PMs read.

What's worse is Groupon is still promoting deals & offering promos on their app roping more consumers to purchase.

We hope to urge everyone to stop purchasing deals from Groupon (at least till this entire saga is resolved). Many of us do not mind refunds if products are not delivered, but they are not doing anything at all !

Angry Groupon Customer

GRABCAR DRIVER NEARLY KILLED ME WITH HIS RECKLESS DRIVING

BEWARE OF THIS DRIVER IF U WANT TO LIVE! (grabcar is not attending to my complaint, thus help me make this viral) OPEN TO SHARE!

"I called for a grabcar from marina square to Tanjong Rhu. It was supposed to only take 7-10 min max instead the journey took 40 minutes. But my biggest complain is regarding his reckless driving. A couple of distressing incidences that happened throughout the journey.

Firstly, at raffles blvd when he picked me up, he stopped the car at a dangerous position whereby he was endangering a car behind.

When entering the expressway, instead of turning into ECP(CHANGI) (I instructed him to keep left a few times) but he went right instead, into MCE/AYE. I told him to take the next exit which is MBS. I actually told him to turn right towards nicoll highway, instead he turned left and made a u turn. He insisted on using the google maps which I understand that the grabcar drivers are advised to do so. I agreed.

He went back into ECP(CHANGI). I was seated directly behind him so I was observing the Google maps from his phone and it directed to exit at fort road but he made another wrong turn and entered KPE(PIE). With no other choice I told him to exit at paya lebar.

Thinking that he knew where we were heading towards, I started engaging on my phone. After awhile, I looked out the window and realized he made yet another wrong turn into nicoll highway. By now I was agitated. So I told him to follow the map.

At the cross junction between republic ave and republic blvd, he needed to turn right. It was green light but wasn't green arrow yet. So the cars heading straight had the right of way. Instead of stopping he proceeded with the turn and that was when we almost got into an accident from an oncoming car. The oncoming car was inches away. It was at this point that I started shouting and I braced myself for impact thinking that the car was going to collide into us. We narrowly escaped that close call but at the end of the turn his rear right tyre mounted the curb.

I was in a state of shock and broke down instantly. He told me not to cry. He then proceeded to enter ECP(CHANGI) AGAIN. This time I made sure he exited fort road. It was then I finally came to my senses and started questioning him as to whether he saw the oncoming car or not. He replied "Yes I saw it." So I asked "why didn't you slow down?" He said he did. Coming from an experienced driver myself, he definitely didn't slow down and it was a move that endangered my life and his.

While this conversation was happening, he made ANOTHER WRONG TURN. He then proceeded to make his way towards tanjung rhu but this time he missed the turn and turned right into Mountbatten rd. At this very second I felt it was just too much and all I wanted to do was alight from the car. I insisted on him stopping the car but instead he made an illegal u turn. He was persistent on sending me to my destination. Afraid that if I pestered him further to stop the car, he would react rashly, I reluctantly complied. After the dreadful 40 mins journey that could have been 7 mins, I finally reached tanjung rhu.

By now I was late for my appointment and still in a state of daze. It took me 4 days to recover from the shock in order to write in this complaint. It was during this 4 days, my work performance was affected. It brought back nightmares of a previous accident i experienced in Australia not too long ago.

I am deeply saddened by this traumatizing incident by this particular grabcar driver. Furthermore, I am worried for the safety of the other passengers who may come across such a reckless and dangerous driver.

When I started having flashbacks about the upsetting episode, I felt that the driver was driving under the influence (DUI) as he was incapable of following simple instructions, repeatedly making wrong turns, constantly tailgating and making sudden jam brakes.

I hope disciplinary action will be taken to ensure the safety of all passengers."

PETITION TO BAN ADAM LAMBERT DUE TO LEWD ACTS, NOT HIS HOMOSEXUALITY

$

<Forum Letter by Zhang Jieqiang> <Credits: TODAYonline>

If one has read and understood the petition against his performance, one would see that his sexual orientation was not the main issue.

Rather, the main concern was over his controversial performance history, fraught with lewd and sexualised acts, which would be inappropriate for Celebrate 2016.

The writer stated that one must look at Mr Lambert from the perspective of his performance and the audience’s enjoyment. The petition was precisely concerned with wholesome entertainment that the whole family, including young children, can enjoy.

I also agree with the writer of “Adam Lambert furore: No objections heard over Elton” (Dec 8) that Mr Lambert’s participation in Celebrate 2016 will not be an issue so long as he abides by our public performance rules.

This writer mentioned that there was no objection to tennis star Martina Navratilova’s involvement in the Women’s Tennis Association Finals or to singer Elton John’s performance.

This is rightly so because they were not at risk of performing indecent acts publicly. Again, their sexual orientation was not the main concern.

People who think the concerns about Mr Lambert show bigotry and homophobia fail to understand that if he were a heterosexual performer with a similar sexualised performance history, the petition’s concerns would still be valid.

Public discourse would benefit from more clarity of thought and better understanding of one another. We should learn to distinguish between issues clearly, so that we can identify what is right and what is not.
